About Ontario Casino Index
We're an independent reference site for Ontario's regulated online-casino market. Our job is to tell you, plainly and accurately, which casinos are legal here and how they actually perform — starting with the one thing players care about most: getting paid.
Our mission
When Ontario opened Canada's first competitive iGaming market in April 2022, the search results filled up with affiliate pages that blurred the line between legal operators and offshore brands, and that leaned on bonus hype that Ontario law doesn't even permit. We built Ontario Casino Index to do the opposite: separate iGO-licensed operators from the offshore grey market on every page, and replace marketing slogans with verifiable data on licensing, payments and payout speed.
We are not a casino, a sportsbook or a payment provider. We don't take bets or hold player money. We publish information, two free tools, and honest reviews.
Meet the team
Daniel is a Toronto-based writer and analyst who has covered Canadian payments and regulated online gaming since Ontario's market launched in 2022. He built the iGO Licence Checker and the Interac Payout-Speed Tracker, and he reviews every operator page against primary AGCO and iGaming Ontario sources before it goes live. Daniel's focus is the unglamorous detail competitors skip — KYC review windows, withdrawal limits, and the difference between Interac e-Transfer and Interac Online.
Claire keeps our coverage aligned with the AGCO Registrar's Standards — especially the advertising and inducement rules that trip up so many gambling sites — and owns our responsible-gambling resources, including how we surface ConnexOntario and the new BetGuard register. She reviews any page that touches bonuses, eligibility, or player protection.
How we make money (and how we don't)
Some of our outbound links to operators are commercial: we may earn a commission if you sign up. Those links are labelled and carry rel="sponsored nofollow". What that money never buys is a better rating, rank or verdict. Our scoring is mechanical and fully documented on our methodology page, and we routinely rank non-partners above partners, and flag operators we could never earn a cent from when they're not legal in Ontario. If you ever see a conflict between what's good for us and what's accurate for you, accuracy wins — that's the only way an index like this is worth reading.
Editorial standards & AI use
Every claim traces back to a primary source: the iGaming Ontario directory, AGCO records, or an operator's own published terms. We use AI tools to help draft and structure content and to check consistency, but a human fact-checks and edits every page, and AI never sets a rating or invents a statistic. Markets move and operators change their terms.
